U.S. R&D focus

The project combines engineering design, prototype fabrication, field trials and technology validation. The goal is to develop a practical American environmental technology for shallow-water dredging, beneficial sediment reuse and resilience work.

Built for demanding environments.

Stainless-steel components, protected routing and practical mounting details support prototype development and field testing.

Adaptive Pneumatic Flotation Wheel R&D

RoboDredger is developing a lightweight pneumatic flotation wheel as part of its shallow-water mobility and positioning R&D. The current prototype target is approximately 1,300 mm in diameter and 600 mm wide, using an open welded 316L stainless-steel structure rather than a heavy conventional disk.

  • Low-pressure pneumatic structure designed to flex under pump loading and recover as the load changes.
  • Adjustable air pressure to tune buoyancy, ground pressure and damping for sand, silt, mud and shallow-water conditions.
  • Lightweight tubular spokes, open-frame construction and thin internal protection to reduce wheel mass.
  • Field testing to measure wheel deformation, traction, mobility, stability and interaction with pump suction forces.
  • Engineering optimization of geometry, pressure range, structural weight and serviceability based on prototype data.
